ANNIE OAKLEY FESTIVAL
The festival honors native daughter Phoebe Ann Mosey. Held the last weekend of July, the festival features the Miss Annie Oakley Shooting Contest, Gamblers’ Shootout and Fast Draw, historical tours, arts and crafts, parade, and more.
THE GREAT DARKE COUNTY FAIR
The county fair opens on the third Friday in August for 9 fun-filled days and nights. Considered by many to be the largest agricultural fair in the state of Ohio, the Great Darke County Fair features livestock shows and sales, harness racing, entertainment including a big name grandstand concert, tractor pulls, horse pulls, demolition derby, displays, midway rides, and food.
GATHERING AT GARST
The Gathering at Garst is a free two-day event held the last Saturday and Sunday in July on the beautiful grounds of Garst Museum. This is a quality juried show featuring art, antiques, historical skilled craftsmen, garden exhibits, a farmers market and great food. A living history encampment with participants from the French and Indian War through the Civil War is staged nearby. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the two days.
